Eesti Pank welcomes visiting domestic researchers for 2021
Eesti Pank / Bank of Estonia is inviting domestic candidates with a Ph.D. in Economics or Finance to apply for the position of Visiting Researcher in the Research Division in 2021. The position is intended for researchers with an academic or central banking background. Doctoral students expecting to graduate within a year are also encouraged to apply.
Visiting researchers are expected to conduct research projects corresponding to the general interests of Eesti Pank, preferably on topics related to the current research projects in the Research Division, and that could be carried out in collaboration with the division’s economists.
During their stay at Eesti Pank, visiting researchers are expected to carry out their research to a mutually agreed research plan. Research results are usually published in the Working Paper Series of Eesti Pank. Researchers are also expected to present their work at the seminars of the bank and to participate in internal discussions. Visiting researchers are entitled to remuneration that reflects their experience and academic reputation.
Our requirements for a Visiting Researcher include proven research capability and strong communication skills in English. Proficiency in Estonian is not required.
The usual duration of the employment contract for the Visiting Researcher position is two to four months. The length of the stay is flexible, but it is expected to be long enough to ensure the successful completion of the project.

- A short description of the proposed research project, including the topic and subtopics; a description of the research questions and potential results; an overview of the theoretical background and research methodology; the preferred starting date; and the expected duration of the research project;
- A CV with an emphasis on the applicant’s academic background and experience in research work;
- Examples of earlier studies carried out by the applicant.
