The Eesti Pank museum will be open from 9.00 to 14.00 on Wednesday 24 February and everyone is welcome to join us to celebrate Independence Day.
The Provisional Government was declared on 24 February 1924 in the building of Eesti Pank and it put together a manifesto of independence that marked the birth of the Estonian state. A board displaying the manifesto is placed on show at the historical building at Estonia pst 13 on Independence Day. On that day only, visitors to the museum can see the historical painting 24 February 1918 by Nikolai Kalmakov.
The Eesti Pank Museum is open from 09.00 to 14.00. At 10.30 Märt Karmo will lead a tour in Estonian of the museum and around the historic building, and at 13.00 there will be a tour in Russian. While the museum is open, there will be an art and craft corner for children, and visitors to the museum will be offered tea and pastries to celebrate independence.
Entrance to the museum and the tours is free. The museum shop is also open.
